SEEHOUSZ  -- Elizabeth Nan Seehousz. The family is the cornerstone of civilization . If every family was cared for the way Betty did hers, the world would be a perfect place. Although her façade seemed stern, her heart was always soft. She signed note4s as “Big Bad Betty’ but she was really Big Soft Betty. And while there was no double that her word was law, her law was always loving and with a purpose. Her time as an RN at Salem County Nursing Home gave her yet another outlet to share her caring ways. Never one to sit around the house, her adventurous spirit always kept her on the go. When the children were young she and her late husband, Paul would take them camping along the eastern seaboard and up into Canada. She kept on the go until November 2006 when she broke her hip in Ireland. And although she made it home for Christmas, her kids made her promise to keep her adventures stateside.

Betty is the wife of the late Paul Sr., mother of Luann (George) Sammons of Buena, Paul Jr. (Susan) of Quinton, Rick (Laurel) of Gibbstown, Carole Seehousz of Salem, sister of William (Ruth) McGuire of Alden, PA and Nan to grandchildren Heather and Rick Jr.

Services were held in the Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro with burial in Lake Park Cemetery.

MENDEN – Warren F. Menden. Always a Marine, Warren’s soul belonged to Jesus, and the rest of him belonged to the Corps. It was there he acquired the skills to help him succeed in life. A die hard Buffalo Bills fan, he wouldn’t back down even in the heart of Eagles Country. So regimented that he had a perfect attendance record with his bowling league, even if that meant playing through a heart attack and immediately after a stroke.

Church was more than a Sunday affair. Warren was always willing to volunteer for the Lord and help a church grow.

Warren, an MP, met Susie Smith at the bowling alley in Quantico and shortly after purchased a ring. Somehow the ring got lost but that did not thwart them from spending 52 years together.

Warren is survived by his fellow Marine and wife, Susie, and sons: Harvey, Steven, and Kevin, and his “sweet thing” daughter, Janeen Bruynell, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by the Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro. Donations to Bethel Bible Church, 20 S. Elmwood Ave, Carneys Point would be appreciated.

DOERRMANN – James F. Doerrmann. Jim wore a perpetual smile and was quick with a chuckle. He was reliable and determined to do good and necessary things. That license plate “SHS 42” always produced a smile and wave. After serving in WWII as a sergeant in the Army he returned home to farm with family. Later he became the Municipal Clerk for Woolwich Twp. and retired after 27 years. Retirement  brought more time to golf (with Myrtle Beach trips), fish, hunt and bowl. Septembers found him in Townsend’s Inlet on his boat “Good Grief”. It was there that he taught his daughter and grandkids the fine art of pulling in the big one. Jim was active with the Paulsboro-Swedesboro Masonic Lodge F&AM #157.

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Marion Rainey and they spent the last 62 years together. He is also survived by daughter, Susan Osborn, grandchildren Ryan (Michelle) Osborn, Shannon (Barry) Gandy, and great grandchildren Rylee and Colin Osborn and Savanna Gandy; his sister Mary Urion.

FRANK – Edith had a nurturing spirit: when there was a need she was there to fill it. An unkind word never passed her lips: she lived her Christian Faith. “I’ll say a prayer for you” was her mantra. Hallmark will see a downturn in earning: Edith remembered every birthday and holiday and made get well cards a top priority. Butterflies and plants were her constant reminders that life springs eternal: this week she filled pots outside her home with spring flowers. Volunteering was a lifelong commitment: during WWII she was a hostess at USO dances, as a young mother she volunteered with both the Girl and Boy Scouts and she as always active in her church.

She celebrated a 60 year anniversary with husband Jim and was mother of James, Fredric, Charles, Susan Forsythe and Jeremy; sister of Emily Bunten; grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 2.
