WOOLWICH BURGLARIES ON THE RISE --
In the past several weeks, Woolwich Township, as well as the surrounding
communities have been experiencing an upsurge in residential burglaries.
Woolwich has had five daytime burglaries, where homes have been entered
either through an unlocked window or door, or by forced entry.
Township officials are asking residents to be assertive in locking all doors
and windows, activating alarm systems (if equipped) and displaying alarm
placards. It is also a good practice not to keep jewelry boxes in the open
as these seem to be the number one target of these thieves.
Report any and all suspicious persons, vehicles, and/or activity to the
police department's emergency dispatch number (856)589-0911 as this
will ensure an expedited police response.
