12 Months of Fitness…Ready set, sing
along now…

In the first month of fitness we looked back on 2010. That was easy.
In the second month of fitness…we learned that the new approach weight
watchers was taking their followers actually had better health merit by
incorporating more fruits and vegetables into the eating plan instead of
simple calorie counting.
In the third month of fitness… we realized that we actually had a chance
of seeing some future money savings if we followed a prevention attitude
toward our health rather than a treatment method. Medicines and illness
can sure cost a lot more than simple steps of prevention.
In the fourth month of fitness….I helped you to understand that failure to
allow time for ‘recovery’ between workouts (aka overtraining) can actually
be counterproductive to both your targeted results as well as your health.
In the fifth month of fitness…I gave you a pretty good list of some races
to enter to help pull you out of tedium in your running and/or biking
while assisting in some valuable fundraising activities.
In the sixth month of fitness…I answered a few questions that were raised
by some acquaintances that dealt with avocados, effects of eating at
different times of the day, and the best way to burn off excess energy in
bed. Yup…you read that right. If you missed that one, it’s one of the good
things about this newspaper’s archive section.
We are half way there.
In the seventh month of fitness…we learned that our muscles can suffer the
same boredom as our brains and that if we didn’t change up on our routine
once in awhile, neither would see any improvement with the failure of
challenge.
In the eighth month of fitness…I shared my preparation and experience of
my first triathlon.
In the ninth month of fitness…I showed my serious annoyance (and conscious
refusal of political correctness) with people who choose to continue to
follow careless unhealthy lifestyles and the effect that it has and will
continue to have on our healthcare system which we
ALL
will end up paying for.
In the tenth month of fitness….I offered my advice (in softer tone) to
people who choose to continue to follow careless unhealthy lifestyles
whose effects on our healthcare system we
ALL
will end up paying for, a realistic step by easy small step plan for
making some positive changes.
In the eleventh month of fitness…I covered the importance of the five
components of a complete fitness program.
And in the twelfth month of fitness…I talked about the guy whose gut fell
over his belt, why it was falling over his belt, why it shouldn’t be
falling over his belt, how it’s falling over his belt affected his aching
back, and how he could prevent it all. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t cover
all five of the components in his fitness plan.
But it’s never too late…HAPPY
NEW
YEAR! Now go dig
