RIBBON CUTTING AND OPEN HOUSE CEREMONIES marked the official opening of the Swedesboro-Woolwich Historical Society Museum. On hand for the ceremony were (left to right) Swedesboro Mayor Tom Fromm, long time member and former president Elaine Rode, secretary Teresa Carlton, co-chair Martha Hogan-Battisti and Dan Battisti. Co-chair Edit Rohrman is not pictured. The rooms were painted and repaired by Jacob Manning who earned his Eagle Scout Rank for the project. The museum is located at the Swedesboro Borough Hall in the former Swedesboro Police Headquarters. The society had acquired several items and inherited an extensive collection of Swedesboro memorabilia from Jack Adams, a local historian. They will now have a place to be displayed in the society’s new location.

THE HURFF CANNERY  (left) was a major employer in the area. On display are a variety of their items. (right) Examples from the glass making industry in Swedesboro are also on display.
